The nominees for Footballer of the Year are Hou Yu, Huang Zhengyu, Liang Xueming, Lin Liangming, and Xie Wenneng. The nominees for Footballer of the Year (Female) are Chen Qiaozhu, Li Qingtong, Luo Guiping, Yuan Cong, and Zhang Zimei. Xie Wenneng and Lin Liangming made decent performance in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers vs Japan.
